<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new image forming apparatus appropriate for standardizing an image creation mechanism with other image forming apparatuses. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus forming an image on a sheet comprises: a sheet stacker storing maximum storable size rectangular sheets with a short side thereof in a sheet extraction direction; an image creation mechanism which is provided so as to settle on the sheet stacker and forms an image corresponding to image data on a sheet extracted from the sheet stacker by a main scan in the direction orthogonal to the sheet extraction direction; an image scanner whose maximum readable main scanning dimension is equal to or larger than the short side but smaller than the long side of the maximum size sheet, and which is provided above the image creation mechanism so that a reading sub-scanning direction is in the sheet extraction direction; and an electric circuit generating image data on the basis of an output of the image scanner. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
