The device has a loading device (3) e.g. circumferential tensile band, for applying a rotational symmetric force effect on an outer side of a sand material layer (1), which is preformed to a cylindrical vault shell. The loading device causes reduction of a preselected outer diameter of a preformed cylindrical element to a smaller transformed cylindrical element. A vault support (4) e.g. elastic cylinder, is arranged on an inner side of the cylindrical element, and allows translational shifting of the sand grains in an axial direction of the cylindrical element.
