摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine system capable of reducing nitrogen oxide in exhaust gas, while achieving high temperature combustion. <P>SOLUTION: In this engine system 10, the exhaust gas supplied from an EGR device 15 and outside air are mixed by a surge tank 23, and are supplied to a cylinder 18 of an engine 11. An ECU 17 adjusts the oxygen concentration in the cylinder 18 of the engine 11 by adjusting an oxygen gas supply quantity supplied to a second passage 36 from an oxygen gas supply device 16 by controlling operation of an oxygen gas injection valve device 49. In this constitution, the exhaust gas lower in the nitrogen concentration than the outside air and the outside air are mixed, and mixed gas of properly adding oxygen gas is taken in the cylinder 18 of the engine 11. Thus, an oxygen quantity can be increased while reducing an nitrogen quantity in the gas taken in the cylinder 18 of the engine 11 than the outside air.
