<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tubular body having good shape holding properties against external force in a vertical direction relative to an axis of the tubular body, and to provide a control cable. <P>SOLUTION: This tubular body 1 is used, wherein a surface part 2 constituting a surface of the tubular body 1 and an inner part 3 constituting an inner surface of the tubular body 1 are provided. For repeated regions 4 successively and repeatedly appearing in a section if the tubular body 1 is cut in a plane parallel to its length direction, a first connection part 5 connected to a first adjacent region 4a includes a protrusion 7 extending in the length direction. The sectional shape at a leading end of the protrusion 7 has a curved line. A second connection part 6 connected to a second adjacent region 4b includes a recess 8 which extends in the length direction and on which the leading end of the protrusion 7 is slidable. The protrusion 7 included in the first connection part 5 of the repeated regions 4 and the recess 8a included in the first adjacent region 4a are engaged with each other.
