<p>System and Method for Personalization of Information (Abstracts/Articles) The invention is an application/system or otherwise referred as PIS is based on a taxonomy architecture. The taxonomy used in any implementation of PIS could be developed by a domain expert or derived from existing classification standards. The taxonomy will consist of categories relevant to the industry where PIS is going to be deployed. PIS make use of an automatic text categorisation engine that will determine the meaning of an electronic document and then assign a category for the document. Once PIS ascertain the meaning of the document, PIS will route the document automatically to a category in the taxonomy. Routing of the document is done using the user profiler. The user profiler in PIS will determine one or more categories that is/are related to the user. The categories that are relevant to the user would be listed (via a hyperlink) in the PIS graphical user interface when the user logs into PIS. To read the document from a particular category, the user will click the category's hyperlink and then the document's title under the same category would be listed (via a hyperlink). To read the document, the user will click the document's title (hyperlink) and the document will appear via an appropriate application depending on the document's original format.</p> |
