<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for rolling a billet which can reduce crops even when a ratio of (length/width) and a ratio of (length/thickness) of a billet are less than 3. <P>SOLUTION: The method for rolling a billet 1 performs width reduction rolling by reverse rolling with a plurality of paths. In at least two successive paths of the plurality of paths, bite and back rolling is performed by a preset length from one side in the first path, and then a rolling is performed from the opposite side to the first rolling side in the second path.
