<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light adjustment device capable of preventing damage of a coil or a magnet, or disturbance of a rotation operation due to contact with built-in device components, while being made sophisticated, compact, and thin. <P>SOLUTION: A light adjustment device comprises: two substrates at least one of which has an opening; a spacer that defines a clearance between the two substrates; at least one incident light adjustment means that has a shaft member as a rotational center, and that rotates in a plane perpendicular to an optical axis direction between the substrates; and at least one driving means that comprises a magnet attached to the incident light adjustment means and a coil wound around a core material, and that drives the incident light adjustment means. The driving means alternately rotates the incident light adjustment means between a first static position, retracted from the opening, and a second static position, overlapping the opening, to adjust incident light passing through the opening.
