PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a tungsten carbide-cobalt sintered material for an FSW(Friction Stir Welding) tool is provided to manufacture a sintered material with uniform structure, high toughness, and high wear resistance through a single process. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a tungsten carbide-cobalt sintered material for an FSW tool comprises the steps of: mixing cemented tungsten carbide balls and alcohol into mixed cobalt and tungsten powder(205), sealing the mixture in a high-strength stainless container, pulverizing the mixture through a high-energy ball milling apparatus, drying the pulverized powder in a vacuum oven to remove alcohol, mounting a mold containing the powder in a chamber(110) of a discharge plasma sintering apparatus(100), heating the powder with a set pressure applied to the powder in the mold in order to mold a product, and cooling the inside of the chamber. |
