<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dwelling house with a layout allowing a mother and others to keep an eye on a child while doing housework, and manage both the housework and child care without worry. <P>SOLUTION: On the first floor, the followings are arranged: an entrance zone 1; a utility zone 2 including a washroom 2a having an access from/to the entrance zone; a kitchen zone 3 adjacent to the utility zone which is an open-kitchen from which the mother and others can see the utility zone and the entrance zone; and a gathering zone 4 including a dining room 4a and a living room 4b. On the second floor, a child's zone 14 is provided at a place which locates obliquely upward on the kitchen zone and where the mother and others can visually check through an open ceiling 11. A way from the entrance zone to the utility zone and a way from the entrance zone to the gathering zone can be seen from the kitchen zone.
