PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving resistance to scratch by a hook-and-loop fastener of a polyester fiber fabric while maintaining levels required for a vehicle interior material with respect to suppression of breakage of ground yarn, flame retardance and fastness to rubbing. SOLUTION: The method for improving resistance to scratch by a hook-and-loop fastener of a polyester fiber fabric includes a process for applying a water dispersion containing water and a treatment agent dispersed therein and drying the water dispersion applied to the polyester fiber fabric, and the treatment agent uses a polyurethane resin, at least one kind of a crosslinking agent selected from the group consisting of a polyisocyanate compound, a polycarbodiimide compound, and an oxazoline compound, and a smoothing agent.
