<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based ink of black, excellent in gloss and image clarity, and to provide a water dispersion for inkjet recording and usable for the ink. <P>SOLUTION: The water dispersion for inkjet recording is a water dispersion of a water-insoluble crosslinked polymer particle containing carbon black, wherein DBP (dibutylphthalate) oil absorption of the carbon black is 40-90 ml/100 g and the average particle diameter of the water-insoluble crosslinked polymer particle is ≤95 nm.
