PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide and an optical module, which reduce a cross talk between a light emitting element and a light receiving element. SOLUTION: The surface type light receiving element 2 and the light emitting element 3 are mounted on a substrate 1. The optical waveguide 5 having a reflection films (conductive films) 5a and 5b working as a 45°mirror on one end and having clads 51a and 51b optically coupled to the reflection films 5a and 5b and having an optical fiber connected to the other end is arranged on the substrate 1 through a sub mount 4. The reflection film 5a and the reflection film 5b are mutually separated, and thereby, the cross talk between the light receiving element 2 and the light emitting element 3 is reduced.
