PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder with a dubbing function, for automatically recording program information recorded in a hard disc only by mounting an optical disc such as a DVD with a desired program name written thereon. SOLUTION: The recorder with the dubbing function comprises an input means for issuing commands for writing TV broadcasting program names, and a storage means 14 for storing management information including the program names read from a management information area of an information recording medium 10. After power-on, when the information recording medium 10 is mounted on a predetermined mounting part, a reading part reads the management information in the information recording medium 10 and discriminates whether the program name is written or not. A control means 15 searches whether reception information for the program name is recorded in the hard disc 8 or not, when the program name is written, while the information recording medium 10 dubs the reception information, when the reception information is recorded.
