PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect an inner pressure of a secondary battery constituted by connecting a plurality of battery modules. SOLUTION: An electric power supply unit 10 includes a battery pack 100, an optical fiber 200, and a pressure detecting unit 300. A plurality of battery units 110 are housed inside the battery pack 100. A safety valve 120 is installed at the upper face of the battery unit 110. The optical fiber 200 includes the main wire part 210, an optical demultiplexer 220, and an auxiliary wire part 230. The pressure detecting unit 300 is connected to one end part of the main wire part 210, and the auxiliary wire part 230 is connected to the other end part via the optical demultiplexer 220. An FGB 240 is installed at the end part of the auxiliary wire part 230, and this FGB 240 is fixed in a state of being contacted with respective safety valves 120. The pressure detecting unit 300 detects the inside pressure of the respective battery units 110 based on Bragg wavelength reflected at the respective FGBs 240. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
