PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus for further surely recognizing an object. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is provided with an optical system for forming an object image, an imaging element 10 for imaging the object image, a generating means 1023 for generating hue information of each pixel of the imaging element 10, an object extracting means 1023 for extracting an object image area estimated as an image of a prescribed object from a picked-up image area on the basis of the hue information, and a reliability calculation means 1023 for extracting a similar hue image area composed of pixels of a prescribed hue range including hue of the object image area on the basis of the hue information, and calculating reliability of an extraction result by the object extracting means 1023 on the basis of the number of the extracted similar hue image areas.
