PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which corrects a defect in a glass substrate for constituting a display panel.

SOLUTION: In the method for correcting the defect of the glass substrate, to a projection 1p at which an internal bubble 1b formed in the glass substrate 1 is located, abrasive grains 12a made of alumina are jetted, and the glass material at least in a region including the internal bubble 1b is removed from the glass substrate 1, thus the risk of giving damage to the glass substrate 1 is eliminated, so that the internal bubble 1b of the glass substrate 1 can be perfectly corrected.
