A security system and an operation method thereof are provided to secure an image of an invader by photographing and storing an image of an invader. An apparatus(150) for detecting a passer includes an entrance gate(156), an RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) reader(152), and a security camera(154). The apparatus for detecting a passer is connected to a central security server(100) through a network(160). The entrance gate is a gate door permitting an entrance. The RFID reader reads an RFID tag of a person to enter a security zone, and transmits the read tag information to the central security server through a wire/wireless network. The security camera photographs an image of the passer by a command of the central security server, and transmits the image to the central security server.
