PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaped foam article having low specific gravity, high rigidity and less silver streak, and to provide a polypropylene resin composition and a method for producing the composition for giving the above shaped foam article having low specific gravity and high rigidity. SOLUTION: The propylene resin composition includes 40 to 94 mass% of a propylene polymer (A) containing a propylene homopolymer (A-1) or/and a propylene-ethylene copolymer (A-2), 5 to 30 mass% of the following ethylene-α-olefin copolymer (B), and 1 to 30 mass% of an inorganic filler (C), wherein the total of (A), (B) and (C) is 100 mass%. The ethylene-α-olefin copolymer (B) has 4 to 20 carbon atoms inα-olefin and has density of from 0.85 to 0.89 g/cm<SP>3</SP>and a melt flow rate, measured at 190°C under a load of 2.16 kg, of larger than 10 g/10 min and not larger than 40 g/10 min.
