Disclosed is a red light transmitting zirconia sintered body that has a red color and high translucency. The zirconia sintered body is characterized by containing 6-30 mol% yttria and 0.1-5 mol% cerium oxide by CeO 2 conversion and also characterized by this cerium oxide containing an oxide of trivalent cerium. In addition to a high degree of hardness, this zirconia sintered body has a diamond luster based on the high refractive index typical of zirconia, deep red color and transparency. |
