<p>The method involves initializing a first variable with a random quantity (34) that is increased by a unit. A second variable is initialized (33) with a product of a digital quantity with the random quantity. A third variable is initialized with the digital quantity (21). The first variable is updated by multiplying content of the first variable by that of the third variable, and by subtracting (36) the multiplied result from the content of the second variable. The content of the first variable is decreased (38) by the random quantity to provide (39) a result of a modular exponentiation. An independent claim is also included for an electronic circuit.</p> |
