PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode electrode active material having improved performance and a decreased cost.SOLUTION: A method for producing a nickel-lithium complex oxide comprises the following steps 1 to 7: (step 1) a step of dissolution; (step 2) a step of precipitation; (step 3) a step of filtration; (step 4) a step of drying; (step 5) a mixing step where aluminum oxide and lithium carbonate are mixed into precursor powder obtained in the step 4; (step 6) a high temperature calcination step where the mixture obtained in the step 5 is calcined at a temperature higher than 790°C; and (step 7) a low temperature calcination step where the calcined article which went through the step 6 is calcined at a temperature lower than 790°C.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
