A method comprising: loading, by an electronic device, a predictive touch profile from a plurality of predictive touch profiles stored on a storage component of the electronic device; receiving, by an electronic device, an indication of a user input detected by a touch panel, the user input comprising a sliding movement traversing a set of prior locations on the touch panel to a current location on the touch panel responsive to receiving the indication of the user input: while the user input is being detected by the touch panel, dynamically determining, by the electronic device, based on the set of prior locations and the current location, and using the predictive touch profile, a predicted next location of the user input on the touch panel, wherein each predictive touch profile from the plurality of predictive touch profiles is associated with a different response curve that correlates to a series of gains that are applied to sliding movements when dynamically determining the predicted next location; andtriggering, by the electronic device, an advancement of a user interface to a predicted next frame corresponding to the predicted next location.
