The invention relates to production equipment for making cigarette filter tips with a cross-section resembling a smiling face. The equipment comprises a shaping machine 1 and an opening machine 2, in which a guide-in device 3 for a band providing the mouth, and a guide-in device 10 for two eye-shape threads are located between the shaping machine 1 and the opening machine 2. Tows of filter material 12 are transported to a cigarette tongue 5 on the shaping machine 1by a high pressure air nozzle 4. The two eye-shape threads 10 and one mouth-shape band 3 can include liquid additive, and at the same time can act directly as a filter material, selectively absorbing tar or other harmful material from tobacco.
