The method involves separately conveying individual doses of the fibrous material by a conveyer (12) in the direction of a machine (11) for packaging the individual doses in packaging units (40), particularly tobacco pouch. Multiple conveyed individual doses are combined into a filling portion, and each formed filling portion is filled in the packaging unit. The number of individual doses resulting from the filling portion are supplied to a pressing station (38), in which the individual doses are pressed together before they are filled as filling portion into their assigned packaging unit. An independent claim is included for a device for forming and packaging of doses from fibrous material, particularly tobacco in a packaging unit, particularly tobacco pouch.
