PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic control device which can improve the timing of the execution of a failure diagnosis of an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: This electronic control device controls the drive of a vehicle having an internal combustion engine and an electric motor as drive sources. The electric control device comprises a cruising distance calculation part which calculates a cruising distance which a vehicle can travel with the electric motor as the drive source from a power residual amount of a battery which supplies power to the electric motor, a diagnosis part which diagnoses a diagnosis object included in the internal combustion engine, and a control part which controls the internal combustion engine. Then, the control part forcibly drives the diagnosis object on condition that the cruising distance reaches a threshold distance or shorter, and commands the diagnosis part to diagnose the diagnosis object.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
