PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide, in a membrane separation device using supply water or wash water containing trihalomethane precursors, a method for inhibiting slime in a separation membrane in which the content of trihalomethane in permeated water can be reduced while having a sufficient slime inhibiting effect.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for inhibiting slime in a separation membrane by: having a bromine-based oxidizer or a reactant between a bromine compound and a chlorine-based oxidizer, present; having a bromine-based oxidizer or a reactant between a bromine compound and a chlorine-based oxidizer, and a sulfamic acid compound, present; or having a reaction product between a bromine-based oxidizer or a reactant between a bromine compound and a chlorine-based oxidizer, and a sulfamic acid compound, present, in supply water or wash water into a membrane separation device including a separation membrane, containing trihalomethane precursors.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
