PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce a temperature distribution of molten glass well as designed in advance during a melting process for molten glass.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method for a glass substrate includes a melting process of generating Joule heat by supplying at least a current to molten glass present between a plurality of pairs of electrodes constituted by including tin oxide or molybdenum. The melting process includes the processes of: calculating specific resistance of the molten glass based upon a measured value of the current, a measured value of a voltage, sectional area of a region of the molten glass set as a range in which the current flows, and a distance between the pair of electrodes; and adjusting a temperature of the molten glass based upon the calculated specific resistance so that the molten glass has a previously designed temperature distribution, the specific resistance being calculated in the process of calculating the specific resistance based upon a consumption length of the pair of electrodes found for each electrode pair by using a corrected distance obtained by correcting the distance for each electrode pair.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
