<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile radio unit capable of reducing power consumption much less by attaining further improvement in the efficiency of power consumption of a power amplifier (PA) in a transmission control circuit for the mobile radio unit, and method of controlling the PA used therefor. <P>SOLUTION: A control section 12 uses a PA power supply voltage table Vt, a temperature correction table Tt, a frequency correction table Ft, a transmission power error correction table Pt, an initial value Pi for transmission power error correction and a PA power supply voltage delay correction table Dt to generate a control signal corresponding to a PA power supply voltage to a PA 5 and outputs the generated control signal to a DC/DC converter 3.
