PURPOSE: A heat exchanger for a ship is provided to be stably controlled by the increased temperature and the expanded volume of fresh water. CONSTITUTION: A heat exchanger for a ship comprises a seawater pump unit(100), a storage tank, a fresh water pump unit(300), a heat exchange unit, a bypass pipe, and a control part(600). The storage tank has a predetermined volume to store and supply fresh water. The fresh water pump pumps the fresh water receiving from the storage tank. The heat exchange unit heat-exchanges the seawater pumped in the seawater pump unit and the fresh water pumped in the fresh water pump unit. The bypass pipe is arranged in the fresh water pump unit and machineries(800) and directly supplies the fresh water to the machineries without passing through the heat exchange unit. The control part controls the moving direction of the fresh water according to the temperature and pressure of the fresh water passing through the machineries and the operation state of the fresh pump unit.
