CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for treating amyotrophy or protecting muscle injury contains a Saururus chinensis extract as an active ingredient. The concentration of the extract is 1-10 um. A pharmaceutical composition for treating muscle diseases or protecting muscle injury is manufactured in the form of an oral formulation containing a powder, granules, a capsule, a suspension, an emulsion, a syrup, or aerosol. A food composition for treating muscle diseases or protecting muscle injury contains the extract as an active ingredient. The pharmaceutical composition contains sauchinone of chemical formula 1 as an active ingredient.
