PURPOSE: A parking assist method is provided to increase overall length of a vehicle which is mounted with a trailer for assisting parking. CONSTITUTION: A parking assist method comprises: a step of sensing object bear a vehicle in a state with a velocity of a preset velocity or more; a step of calculating a distance to the obstacle(L1); a step of deciding whether the obstacle is continuously sensed for over preset time to judging whether the obstacle is a vehicle appurtenance(700); a step of increasing a total vehicle overall length(L3) by including a distance to the obstacle in a vehicle overall length(L2), when the obstacle is the vehicle appurtenance; and a step of assisting parking based on the total vehicle overall length. |
