An organic solvent for preparing an electrode plate slurry of a lithium secondary battery, and a method for preparing an electrode plate for a lithium secondary battery by using the organic solvent are provided to prevent discoloration and the increase of impurities. An organic solvent comprises an organic solvent and a discoloration-inducing material control additive. Preferably the organic solvent is N-methylpyrrolidone(NMP); and the discoloration-inducing material control additive is an antioxidant. Preferably the antioxidant is 4-tert-butyl-pyrocatechol(TBC), butylated hydroxytoluene(BHT) or hydroquinone. A method for preparing an electrode plate comprises the steps of adding a discoloration-inducing material control additive to an organic solvent; adding a binder to the obtained solution; mixing the obtained solution with an electrode active material and a conducting material to prepare a slurry; coating the slurry on an electrode current collector; and drying and rolling the coated slurry. |
