The invention relates to a method for gain map generation of an IR camera, and to an IR camera with gain map compensation comprising an IR sensor for receiving IR radiation via a lens system with a focusing mechanism, a spade capable of being introduced into the lens system, an image processing unit and a memory. According to the invention, a gain map is generated during operation (32) based on an image (29) generated against an inserted spade and an image generated against a defocused scene (30), which generated gain map is applied in the form of pixels to an image (33) received by the IR sensor of the IR camera. Achieved through the invention are a method and an IR camera which provide a gain map which is always optimized in relation to the scene which the camera is observing at the time and which deals effectively with spatial noise resulting in an increase in the image quality. |
