PURPOSE: An auxiliary brake for preventing the skid of a vehicle is provided to stop a vehicle in the skid occurrence of the vehicle caused by snow or ice in the winter, and maintain a posture without the rotation of a vehicle caused by a vehicle skid on the load with snow or ice. CONSTITUTION: An auxiliary brake for preventing the skid of a vehicle comprises an auxiliary braking unit(1) and an operating unit. The auxiliary braking unit is installed in a vehicle body, performs braking by the movement of a pointed end to the ground and the contact with the ground, and comprises a cylinder(2), a shaft portion(4), and a hydraulic cylinder(3). The cylinder is fixed to be erected in the vehicle body in a vertical direction, and supports the shaft portion in the lateral side. The shaft portion is installed to be movable in the way of slide inside of the cylinder to the length direction of the cylinder. The hydraulic cylinder is installed in the rear end of the shaft and moves the shaft portion in the way of slide inside of the cylinder. The operating unit controls the auxiliary braking unit and comprises a wheel rotation speed detector, a main brake operation detector, a vehicle speed detector, a vehicle body rotation detector, and a control unit. The wheel rotation speed detector detects the rotation speed of a vehicle. The main brake operation detector detects whether a main brake device operates or not. The vehicle speed detector detects a vehicle speed. The control unit receives a detection signal from the wheel rotation speed detector, the main brake operation detector, and the vehicle speed detector, and controls a hydraulic pressure supplied to the hydraulic cylinder. |
