The present invention provides an opening apparatus and a control method thereof, wherein the opening apparatus comprises a plurality of heald frame drive systems, wherein each heald frame drive system is provided with an opening motor, an opening rod, a connection member and a heald frame, the opening rod is provided with a connection arm, the connection member is connected with the connection arm of the opening rod through a mounting position adjustment component, the heald frame is driven by the opening motor through the connection member and the opening rod, the connection arms of at least two opening rods of the heald frame drive systems are different in the aspect of angle position surrounding the swaying center of the opening rod, and the opening apparatus is characterized by comprising an aligning component, and the opening motor is allowed to rotate to move the opening rod to a position aligned to the connection arm of the opening rod.
