The present invention relates to a slitting device of a thin film for a display panel and a cutting method using the same. The invention comprises: a horizontal movement unit that moves in the direction in which a thin film is supplied or in a direction that is orthogonal to the direction in which the thin film is supplied on the upper part of the thin film, which is unwound and supplied from a winding roll; a cutting head which is installed on said horizontal movement unit, irradiates a laser upon a preliminary cutting line that is formed on the thin film according to the direction in which said thin film is supplied, and cuts the thin film into set widths; an actual measurement unit which is positioned on the front of said cutting head, actually measures in a static or dynamic manner the preliminary cutting line of said thin film that enters toward said cutting head, and provides image data for confirming the meanderings of the preliminary cutting line; and a correction control unit which confirms a changed position of the preliminary cutting line that is changed in position by the meanderings, on the basis of the image data actually measured in the static manner and the image data actually measured in the dynamic manner by said actual measurement unit, and controls said horizontal movement unit such that said cutting head is corrected to the changed position of the preliminary cutting line. The invention can continuously and precisely cut a meandering thin film to the set width, and provides an optimized cutting method that reacts to the meanderings of the thin film. |
