The method involves removing two longitudinal edge strips of an adhesive film so as to obtain a clear rupture of the adhesive film that is moved in a continuous manner. A set of neutralization bands (11.1, 11.2) is arranged as adhesive tapes whose adhesive faces are applied to the longitudinal edge strips of the adhesive film. The longitudinal edge strips of the adhesive film are eliminated by withdrawal of the set of neutralization bands that carry the longitudinal edge strips. An independent claim is also included for a device for gluing a continuous coating.
