The assembly has parallel upstream and downstream pipes including exhaust gas purification elements, respectively. An injecting device (17) injects, into a volume, a jet (75) of nitrogen oxide reducing product in the form of liquid. A deflector (33) is placed in the volume relative to an exhaust gas inlet (13) of the volume. Impactors (59, 61, 63) are rigidly fixed on a side of the deflector opposite the inlet, and intercept the jet. The deflector defines a main opening (45) arranged relative to the impactors so that the gas from the inlet and passing via the opening sweeps the impactors. The exhaust gas purification elements are diesel oxidation catalyst and selective catalytic reduction catalyst, and the impactors are metal plates.
