The robot has a body (1) provided with a suction mouth (2) for aspiring debris. A rotary propulsion unit in form of a conduit is carried out by a sleeve (5), and rejects water to propel the robot. The unit comprises a device generating torque for the conduit. The torque generating device comprises a fixed tube that is fed directly by a water pressure source (4) upstream of a venturi device (8). The venturi device is for aspiring the debris supplied to the conduit. The tube is adapted to produce a jet for rotating the conduit.
