PURPOSE: A negative electrode active material is provided to compensate irreversible capacity loss due to volume expansion/contraction when charging and discharging a lithium battery and to improve cycle lifetime. CONSTITUTION: A negative electrode active material comprises a secondary particle(100) with cohered nano-sized primary particles. The nano-sized primary particle comprises a silicon-based nanocore(111), and a continuous first amorphous coating film(112) which is formed on the silicon-based nanocore. A manufacturing method of the negative electrode active material comprises: a step of pulverizing the mixture of a silicon particle and an organic material through a milling process and drying the result; and a step of pulverizing the mixture into a spherical shape and carbonizing the organic material by heat-treating the result. |
