<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To independently adjust a display magnification and focal depth. <P>SOLUTION: The microscope system 1 comprises: an observation optical system 2 including an objective lens 9 and configured such that the numerical aperture of the objective lens 9 and an imaging magnification change so as to interlock with each other; an imaging part 3 disposed on an imaging surface of the observation optical system 2 and configured to photograph an image of a subject A; an image processing part 4 configured to perform a magnifying or reducing process by multiplying an image obtained by the imaging part 3 by a digital magnification; a display part 5 configured to display an image processed by the image processing part 4; an input part 6 configured to let an observer input a display magnification and the focal depth of the objective lens 9 into a display part 5 for an image; and an optical system adjustment part 8 configured to make an adjustment by calculating an imaging magnification for the observation optical system 2 on the basis of the focal depth input by the input part 6.
