<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor, in which a sleeve can be mounted to a rotation shaft with high accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: In an electric motor 11, a rotation shaft 12 defines an outer periphery 21 having a diameter reduced from a large-diameter position 17 having a first diameter toward a small-diameter position 18 having a second diameter smaller than the first diameter. A sleeve 13 is fitted with the outer periphery 21 of the rotation shaft 12 on an inner periphery having a diameter reduced from a front end adjacent to the large-diameter position 17 toward a rear end adjacent to the small-diameter position 18, and is interference-fitted. According to this constitution, the sleeve 13 is fitted with the outer periphery 21 of the rotation shaft 12 almost entirely on the inner periphery 22. A fastening force by a jamming of the sleeve 13 acts on the outer periphery 21 of the rotation shaft 12 almost evenly on the entire inner periphery 22 of the sleeve 13. Additionally, a fastening torque is not locally applied to the rotation shaft 12, and therefore, deformation or distortion of the rotation shaft 12 are avoided.
