<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To break both poles of a DC power supply or an AC power supply reliably over the entire overcurrent region. <P>SOLUTION: The invention is applied to a circuit breaker arranged in a power supply circuit which supplies power from a power supply 10 to a load 20. The circuit breaker comprises: a fuse 30 interposed between one pole of the power supply 10 and the load 20; a circuit breaker 40 interlocked with melting of the fuse 30 to break both poles of the power supply 10; a closed loop configured by connecting a trip coil 50 and a switch 60 in series; and a switch drive section 70 interlocked with melting of the fuse 30 to close the switch 60. When the switch 60 is closed, a voltage is applied by an external power supply 80 to the trip coil 50, and the circuit breaker 40 is actuated by the trip coil 50 to which a voltage is applied, thus breaking both poles of the power supply 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
