摘要 <p>The method involves arranging a measuring point (606) in the current path immediately before the component (101). The circuit is arranged to determine the primary time-averaged voltage drop between the measuring points, to supply predetermined additional direct current between the measuring points and to determine secondary time-averaged voltage drop between measuring points. The ohmic resistance of component is determined by additional direct current and URM. The average electric current is determined based on primary time-averaged voltage drop and ohmic resistance. An independent claim is included for device for determining time-averaged electric current flowing into current path of electrical circuit electrical component such as surface mounted device (SMD) component.</p>
