摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer reflective polarizing film having both of high polarizing performance and a retardation function comparable to an absorptive polarizing plate, the film suitable as a reflective polarizing plate for a VA mode liquid crystal display, and to provide an optical member comprising the film and a VA mode liquid crystal display. <P>SOLUTION: The reflective polarizing film for a VA mode liquid crystal display has an outermost layer having a thickness of 5 &mu;m or more and 50 &mu;m or less on at least one surface of a uniaxially oriented multilayer film. The reflective polarizing film shows an average reflectance of 95% or more for a P-polarized light component with respect to incident polarized light in a wavelength range from 400 to 800 nm at an incident angle of 0 degree, and an average reflectance of 12% or less for a S-polarized light component with respect to incident polarized light in a wavelength range from 400 to 800 nm at an incident angle of 0 degree. The outermost layer shows a retardation (Re) of 0 nm or more and 30 nm or less and a retardation (Rth) in a thickness direction of 50 nm or more and 350 nm or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
