摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quantitate nitrite ions contained in inspection water to a high concentration region with a simple operation. <P>SOLUTION: A method for quantitating nitrite ions contained in inspection water includes: a process 1 for allowing a diazotized reagent capable of generating diazonium salt by reaction with the nitrite ions with respect to the inspection water to be added to at least one kind of compound, e.g., sodium hypophosphite, selected from a compound group constituted by alcohol compounds, hypophosphite and salt thereof, and reacting them under acidity with the addition of hydrochloric acid, etc.; and a process 2 for measuring the absorbance of coloring with the diazotized reagent concerning the inspection water treated in the process 1.
