<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the suppression of brightness variation among respective displays in a multi-display system including a plurality of displays which perform local dimming processing accompanied by maximum brightness control. <P>SOLUTION: In the multi-display system, each display 10 is provided with a display unit 11, a backlight unit 12, and a control and operation unit 13.
