<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a liquid crystal polyester which can produce a liquid crystal polyester at a high yield without changing its physical properties. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a liquid crystal polyester includes: a step of acylating a phenolic hydroxyl group contained in an aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acid and/or a phenolic hydroxyl group contained in an aromatic diol with a fatty acid anhydride; and a step of melt-polycondensating the acylated product produced in the acylating step and aromatic dicarboxylic acid and/or a polymerizable aromatic dicarboxylic acid derivative, and, in the acylating step, the reflux volume of the reaction mixture to flow down an inner wall surface 11a of a polymerization tank 11 is 10 kg/hr/m or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
