A device-adaptable contents generating device includes a basic level media having a first resolution based on rich-media contents, a media generating unit generating at least one or more extended level media which has a higher resolution by stages than the first resolution, a meta data generating unit generating meta data which can access the basic level media generated in the media generating unit and one or more extended level media, and a feature information generating unit which generates feature information about the rich media contents. The file of the rich media contents including the feature information, meta data, basic level media and at least one or more extended level media is stored in a database to be provided according to requests of the contents generating device.
