An inverter for induction heating metals comprises first and second series circuits comprising a first choke and a first controlled valve, a second choke and a second controlled valve. It also comprises a third series circuit comprising a commutating choke and inverter output terminals shunted by a balancing capacitor; said circuit is connected between connection points of chokes and controlled valves of first and second series circuits. In the first series circuit a third controlled valve is connected to the first choke and cathode of bypass diode. The common point of third and fourth controlled valves connection is connected to the positive inverter input, the common point of first and second valves and anodes of bypass diodes are connected to the negative inverter input.
